Tottenham Hotspur insiders were joking that Fabio Paratici may well be handed the manager’s job after Nuno’s dismissal, the Athletic report.
New manager incoming
Paratici only arrived at Tottenham in the summer, but he has wasted absolutely no time in asserting his influence.
The transfer chief is said to be hugely involved on the training ground – as he has held discussions with players at Hotspur Way.
Paratici also has been known to sit pitch-side rather than in the director’s box on game day, and already clips of his passionate reactions to the action have gone viral on social media.
It has led to Tottenham insiders apparently joking that he may get the manager’s job, given the scale of his influence.
Conte to arrive
Of course, that does not look like it will be the case with Antonio Conte now set to arrive.
Conte appears to be a major upgrade on Nuno, given their respective CV’s.
It now remains to be seen whether Paratici will be quite as visible a figure under Conte.
The Italian boss is a hugely charismatic figure, and it sees unlikely that he will want Paratici to play such a strong role, particularly on the training field.
Conte is expected to arrive at Tottenham today, and he could potentially be in charge of his first game on Thursday evening, with Spurs take on Vitesse Arnhem.
