Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen had previously suggested he wanted a new challenge this summer.

Atletico Madrid had been listed as the latest potential suitors for the Danish international, who has suggested that he is looking for a ‘new challenge’ away from Tottenham.
However, it seems that the Spanish side’s interest in the Tottenham man is quickly being dropped.
Daniel Levy is refusing to budge from his asking price which stands at over £60 million, which means that Atleti now prefer the option of signing James Rodriguez.
The Spanish side are also selling Correa to AC Milan for £45 million (Gianluca Di Marzio), which means that any swap deal has been taking off the table with Tottenham.
Spurs are unlikely to be disappointed with the reports that they have lost a suitor for Eriksen, as keeping him would surely be a boost to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Tottenham are heavily reliant of Eriksen’s creativity, and they are a far better team with him involved, even if his form did dip towards the end of last season.
It did seem likely that Eriksen would leave Tottenham this summer, but his options are now rapidly shortening.
And it may be that Eriksen sticks with Tottenham after all now.
