According to the Standard, Tottenham Hotspur forward Troy Parrott is set to spend next season out on loan with Millwall leading the race for his signature.
The Republic of Ireland international needs regular first-team experience.
Parrott is highly-rated. However, manager Jose Mourinho’s refusal to lean on him during Harry Kane’s absence with injury suggests he isn’t ready at Spurs just yet.
A loan move to the Championship would be the ideal start for the 18-year-old.
The Standard claim Millwall are leading a host of clubs interested on him, while Spurs are keen for the player to remain in the capital so they can closely monitor his progress.
The Lions just came up short in the race for a Championship playoff spot this term.
But their progress under Gary Rowett has been evident. A couple of quality additions this summer and a top six place next season could be a realistic target.
Millwall have Matt Smith, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Tom Bradshaw for forward options while on-loan Mason Bennett may move from league rivals Derby County.
But Parrott could offer the south London club a different threat up top. The Dublin-born striker is quick, capable of playing in wider areas and works hard off the ball.
Importantly for Spurs, getting Parrott regular playing time at a decent level next season is a priority and Millwall could offer him just that at the Den.
