Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay £40 million to sign Andrea Belotti from Torino, but next summer, according to The Times.

It has been reported that Tottenham have tried to sign Belotti on loan from Italian club Torino this summer.

Spurs are willing to pay £40 million and make the loan move permanent next summer, but Torino want more transfer fee and for the money to be paid upfront, according to the report, which has added that Spurs would prefer longer instalments.

According to WhoScored, Belotti made 34 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Torino last season, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists in the process.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the Italy international scored 15 goals and provided three assists in 37 league games for Torino, according to WhoScored.

Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Tottenham and remains a player on top of his game, but Spurs need to bring in a new player who will compete with the England international.
