According to Tuttosport, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta in the summer transfer window.

It has been further reported by the Italian publication that Italian club Atalanta want €30 million (£27.15 million) as transfer fee for the 25-year-old Italy international goalkeeper.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Gollini was on the books of Aston Villa from 2016 until 2018 before making a permanent transfer to Atalanta after a loan spell at the Italian club.

The Italy International could not make a massive impact at the Villans, but he has been superb for Atalanta and has been playing well for a while.

The 25-year-old has matured as a goalkeeper in Italy, and he is ready for a move back to England.

Hugo Lloris is a very good goalkeeper, but the Frenchman has made mistakes from to time, some of them very costly.

Lloris needs more competition, and 25-year-old Gollini would provide just that, not only next season, but in the coming years as well.

Spurs are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season and qualify for the Champions League.
