Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are interested in signing Callum Wilson from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window, according to The Express.

It has been reported that Wilson wants a weekly salary of £75,000, and Spurs are willing to meet those demands, but the North London outfit have to sell players first before making any more signings.

Tottenham have already secured the services of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart in the summer transfer window and are on the verge of bringing Matt Doherty from Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the report.

It has been further added that although Newcastle United were favourites to sign the 28-year-old, they are unwilling to pay the £30 million transfer fee and are not ready to meet the England international striker’s wage demands.

Summer transfer

Joelinton scored just two goals in the Premier League last season, according to WhoScored, and it is clear that Newcastle need a better striker.

Wilson knows the Premier League well, and with Bournemouth having been relegated to the Championship, one suspects that he would be keen on joining a club in the top flight of English football.

Spurs need a striker to be a back-up to Harry Kane, and one can understand why they are reportedly looking at Wilson.
