Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Robin Quaison from Mainz in the summer transfer window, according to Bild.

Mainz spell

Quaison has been on the books of Mainz since 2017 and has established himself as an important player in the team.

According to WhoScored, the Sweden international attacker made 31 starts and one substitute appearance in the Bundesliga for Mainz this past season, scoring 13 goals and providing two assists in the process.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the 26-year-old – who can operate as a forward, attacking midfielder or winger – made 25 starts and three substitute appearances in the league for the German club, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Back in 2017-18, the Sweden international made 15 starts and nine substitute appearances in the league for Mainz, scoring four goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Quaison is a versatile footballer who can play across the frontline, and the 26-year-old would be a good signing for Spurs at the right price.

While Spurs do have quite a few attack-minded players, they do need a back-up striker to Harry Kane, and the Sweden international could fill that role.
