Stoke City, Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Kevin Wimmer in the summer transfer window.

Stoke City have made an offer of £15 million to Tottenham Hotspur for Kevin Wimmer, according to The Telegraph.

However, according to the report, Tottenham have turned down the Potters’ bid for the 24-year-old central defender.

Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion are also reported to be have made offers for the Austria international centre-back.

“Stoke City have offered £15million for Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer,” states the report in The Telegraph.

“Stoke have joined the race for the Austria international, who looks likely to leave next week, but it is believed their initial bid was turned down by Spurs.”

Wimmer is a talented and promising defender, but the 24-year-old centre-back has failed to make an impact since his arrival at Tottenham two years ago.

The Austria international joined Tottenham from FC Koln in Germany in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £4.3m.

Following the arrival of centre-back Davinson Sanchez from Ajax in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth up to £40 million, it is clear that Wimmer does not have a future at Tottenham.

However, it seems that Spurs are not going to allow the 24-year-old leave for £15m and want more for him.

Given that Stoke, Palace and West Brom all are (reported to be) interested in the defender, it makes sense for the North London outfit to take the bidding war into the final day of the summer transfer window.
