Tottenham Hotspur are keen to snap up Alassane Plea from Nice this summer.

Newcastle had been leading the race to sign Plea, who wants to play in the Premier League and is keen to link up with Rafael Benitez.
However, Tottenham are now looking to steal a march in the transfer, with Newcastle hesitating.

The Magpies are reluctant to pay the £27 million asking price for Plea, and Spurs have now entered the race.
The Telegraph claim that Spurs are now the favourites to land the French striker, who hit 21 goals last term.

Plea can play in a wide position or as a central striker, and would add depth to Tottenham’s attacking options.
Borrusia Mönchengladbach are also reportedly in the race, but Plea’s desire to move to England, puts Tottenham at the head of the queue.
