Tottenham Hotspur have been long-term admirers of Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur target Luke Shaw is set to end speculation over his future and pen a new contract at Manchester United.

Spurs had been interested in Shaw for a number of seasons, according to the Daily Mail, but they never managed to do business with United.

And it seems that the England left-back is about to end any doubts over his future at Old Trafford.

Shaw is set to pen a £190,000-a-week deal at United, which would suggest that Spurs never stood a chance of landing him.

Tottenham are refusing to even offer those wages to a proven performer like Toby Alderweireld, so making an allowance for Shaw would never have been in their plans.

Spurs will have to look elsewhere for a new left-back now, with Mauricio Pochettino likely to still want to improve in that position.

Danny Rose’s future at Spurs is still far from secure, while Ben Davies has been in poor form so far this term.
