Tottenham Hotspur continue to eye French football for potential additions.

Niakate, 18, is French born centre-back who is eligible to play for Mali at international level.
The teenager began his youth career with Paris Saint-Germain before signing with Valenciennes, where he has established himself in their first team.
Valenciennes are in France’s Ligue 2, where they sit in 12th place.

Niakate signed a new contract with Valenciennes in November amid interest from Swiss side Basel and Belgian club Zulte-Waregem.
His deal runs until 2021, although Valenciennes may find it tough to turn down a substantial offer from Tottenham.
Niakate has made 13 first team starts this season although at the weekend was playing for their B team, which was where Tottenham’s scout was spotted keeping tabs on him,
The young defender is merely a prospect for the future at this stage rather than a difference maker for Tottenham’s first XI, but he is a name for fans to keep aware of.
