Tottenham Hotspur picked a good time to send scouts to watch Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira.
It appears that Tottenham Hotspur are spreading their bets in their pursuit of a right back capable of replicating the attacking brilliance of Kyle Walker.
Football Espana reported on Monday that Spurs had made a bid of £20 million for Valencia’s Joao Cancelo while L’Equipe report that Paris-Saint Germain’s Serge Aurier (below), who is behind Dani Alves and Thomas Meunier in the pecking order, has agreed a deal with the North London club.

However, Aurier also has agreements with Serie A duo Juventus and Inter Milan, meaning he may be at the liberty of choosing one of three European giants.
Yet, it appears that Tottenham cannot yet be discounted from the race to land Porto’s Ricardo Pereira. Spurs have been linked with the versatile Portuguese, who helped Nice qualify for the Champions League during a loan spell last season, for a number of months.
And The Sun reports that Tottenham had sent scouts to watch Porto beat Tondela 1-0 on Sunday, a game in which Ricardo started and starred, winning the Man of the Match award to boot.
Mustering three key passes and a game-high six tackles, the 23-year-old demonstrated his quality at either end of the pitch as Vincent Aboubakar sealed victory for the visitors.
Therefore, Spurs’ scouts would surely have showered Ricardo with praise in their post-match evaluation, though it remains to be seen whether this performance will encourage the North London club to step up their interest.

Ricardo has a buyout clause of £22.5 million in his contract, well within Spurs’ budget and around half the sum City paid for Walker.
