Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur want to sign James Maddison from Premier League rivals Leicester City, according to Dean Jones.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has told GiveMeSport that Tottenham like the England international attacking midfielder.
Jones has added that Tottenham did not get any encouragement about signing the £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) 25-year-old playmaker in the summer transfer window.
On August 5, 90min reported that Tottenham were keen on bringing the England international attacking midfielder to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham Hotspur like Leicester City’s James Maddison
Jones told GiveMeSport: “He’s a great player and he will have a decision to make over his future at the end of this season, I think.
“Tottenham do like him but they were not given any encouragement that he would be available for anyone to buy, so it was felt they had enough to get by for now.”
Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur could be able to sign James Maddison from Leicester City.
With the Foxes struggling at the moment, it is very likely that the 25-year-old will want to move on and join a club with bigger ambition and who are going places.
Tottenham could be that club.
Spurs are challenging for the Premier League top four and are also playing in the UEFA Champions League this season.
In the next two or three years, Tottenham could become title-challengers under head coach Antonio Conte.
Maddison has scored 36 goals and created 38 big chances in 139 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
