West Ham United have signed Javier Hernandez and given him a larger contract than any player at Tottenham Hotspur is on.

According to a report in the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur’s players have been left perplexed by the fact that Javier Hernandez’s contract at West Ham United is greater than any of theirs.

Danny Rose’s comments to The Sun, suggesting that he should be on more money at Spurs, have sent shockwaves across the North London club.

And the Evening Standard suggest that Rose is not the only member of Spurs’ team to be frustrated by the tight wage structure in place.

Tottenham refuse to pay their players more than £100,000-a-week, to keep their costs down.

While most of Tottenham’s squad remain happy to stay, the Standard claim that there has been some frustration about West Ham’s contract offer for Hernandez.

The Mexican forward is believed to be on £140,000-a-week at Slaven Bilic’s side, which has reportedly drawn a few envious glances from Spurs’ players.

Rose’s comments have come at the worst possible time for Spurs, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side due to kick off their season with a match against Newcastle United on Sunday.
