Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Kyle Joseph from Wigan Athletic in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that Tottenham made a bid of £150,000 for the striker in the summer of 2020 and also made an offer to him.
However, the youngster turned down Tottenham and also rejected the chance to join Sheffield United, according to the report, which has added that the North London club plan to make another move for him this month.
Should Kyle Joseph move to Tottenham Hotspur?
Joseph is part of the Wigan first team at the moment and is getting good playing time.
According to WhoScored, the Scotland Under-19 international striker made nine starts and two substitute appearances in League One for the Latics so far this season, scoring four goals in the process.
It is unlikely that the 19-year-old will get into Jose Mourinho’s first team right now. Perhaps signing for Spurs but staying on loan at Wigan for the rest of the season would be a good idea.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham head coach Mourinho wants to sign a centre-back and a defensive midfielder in January.
