Tottenham officials reportedly held talks in Paris regarding the details of the transfer for the right-back.

French newspaper L’Equipe report an agreement is close, with talks quickly progressing.

Aurier’s transfer is complicated by a conviction in France for assault which means he cannot enter the UK.

The defender has appealed the conviction and is seeking to get it overturned.

Ivory Coast international Aurier has been contracted to Paris Saint-Germain since 2015 when he signed permanently from Toulouse.

At the weekend Aurier dropped a potential hint over a desire to join Spurs by ‘liking’ an Instagram picture of himself photshopped wearing a Tottenham kit.

The Mirror reported last week that Spurs are confident of signing Aurier, who is rated at £20 million.

Tottenham already have right-backs Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters currently on their books, but sold Kyle Walker earlier in the summer.
