Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Toby Alderweireld in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.

What’s the story?

So, The Sun are reporting this evening that Spurs are ready to sell Alderweireld.

However, the North London club will not sell the Belgium international central defender on the cheap.

Tottenham want as much as £25 million as transfer fee for the 32-year-old, who earns £100,000 per week as salary, according to the report.

So, why are Spurs ready to listen to offers for the defender?

Well, it seems that it is Alderweireld who wants to leave, and Tottenham have decided that they will not stand in his way.

As long as they get £25 million as transfer fee, of course.

The defender reportedly told Spurs before they appointed Nuno as the manager of his desire to leave.

Royal Antwerp, Club Brugge, PSV Eindhoven and Ajax all are interested in the veteran defender.

Exit inevitable?

When a player wants to go and the club is willing to sell him, a move does happen eventually.

Well, in most cases anyway.

Alderweireld has been at Spurs since 2015 and has given his best years to the club.

Tottenham will respect the 32-year-old’s desire, but, at the same time, the North London club are unlikely to simply let him go.

The question now is whether any club will be willing to pay £25 million for a 32-year-old.
