Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Danny Ings from Southampton in the summer of 2021, according to Eurosport.

Ings not signing a new contract with Southampton has alerted Tottenham, who wanted to secure the services of the former Liverpool striker in the summer of 2020 but brought in Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica instead, according to the report.

The report has claimed that Spurs will put together a bid for the summer of 2021 if they feel that the England international is seriously considering his future at the Saints.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Ings had injury problems at Liverpool, but the 28-year-old has been superb for the Saints – who had to pay £20 million in transfer fee for him, according to BBC Sport.

The England international has scored seven goals and provided three assists in the league so far this season, while in 2019-20, he scored 22 goals and gave two assists in the league, according to WhoScored.

Harry Kane is a world-class player, and while Son Heung-min is banging in the goals for fun, Ings is a ‘natural’ striker and would give another valuable option to head coach Jose Mourinho.
