Report: Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko opens door to potential exit

Moussa Sissoko has been discussing his future.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko has admitted he would be tempted by a return to Ligue 1.

Speaking to SFR Sport, Sissoko said that he could not rule out the option, although he insists he is happy at Tottenham at present.

Le10Sport also report Sissoko’s comments, describing him as opening the door to a return to France.

The midfielder said: “When I look at the French league, yes I miss it a bit. This is where I started, I have a lot of friends who still play, I think it would be nice to play against them.

“But at the same time, I am very happy to be here, it’s a championship where I always wanted to be.”

Sissoko was strongly linked with a move away from Spurs in the summer but rejected the chance to sign with Turkish side Trabzonspor.

He is bidding to earn a place in France’s World Cup squad, and has made an improvement this season by becoming a regular in the Spurs team.

He has made 10 league starts already this season, more than he did across the whole of 2016/17.

Sissoko has a chance to play a prominent role in Tottenham’s Champions League knockout ties, and this should encourage him to stay put, as tempting as a return to his homeland may be for him.
