Winks has shown signs that he could develop into a star player at White Hart Lane if he continues to progress.
The 20-year-old may have only made two Premier League starts to date, but he has caught the eye whenever used.
Mauricio Pochettino appears to have great faith in Winks, and he has used the youngster in crucial stages of many matches.
Winks has never looked overawed by his task at Spurs, and is now on the verge of breaking into the North London side’s starting line-up.
Winks has made 20 appearances across all competitions this season, with the bulk of these displays coming as a substitute.
The academy graduate has been unable to break into the team ahead of Victor Wanyama or Mousa Dembele, but he appears to be Spurs’ third choice central midfielder, with Eric Dier now reverting to playing as a centre-back.
Winks’ good form has not gone unnoticed, with scouts from Europe’s leading clubs now keeping tabs on his progress, but there are no suggestions that any bids will be made in the January transfer window.
