Tottenham Hotspur have made Ricardo Pereira their top target to replace Kyle Walker, but are facing a major obstacle in their bid to sign the Porto right-back, according to the Telegraph.

Walker is expected to join Manchester City in a potential £40 million deal this summer and it is claimed that Spurs could land Pereira for around half that amount.

The 22-year-old has excelled while on loan to Nice these past two campaigns and is able to play in several positions, while the Telegraph reports his salary would align with Tottenham’s strict wage structure.

However, Pereira’s transfer to north London is far from a given, with a trio of European giants Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain also said to have shown an interest.

And to make matters worse for Spurs, it is claimed that new PSG sporting director Antero Henrique is a fan of Pereira, having worked with him at Porto.

As well as securing a replacement for Walker, the Telegraph reports that Tottenham are targeting a central defender, a midfielder and a forward this transfer window.
