Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hunting the Barcelona starlet.

According to AS, Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Barcelona starlet Carles Alena.
The 19-year-old midfielder does not plan on extending his contract with the Spanish giants in spite of the club’s desire to keep him, AS has reported in Spain.
The report goes on to claim that Tottenham are “best placed” to sign the youngster, whom Pochettino would guarantee a spot in the first-team squad next season.

The Sun reported in May that Newcastle United were also interested in signing the teenager.
Alena has had a taste of senior football after Luis Enrique promoted him to first-team duties last season in a fact which should illustrate his potential.

He made four appearances for Barcelona – three in La Liga – after making his debut against Hercules in the Spanish Cup back in November.
Tottenham boss Pochettino is one of the best managers around when it comes to developing young talent and it would certainly be exciting to see how good Alena could be by working closely with the Argentine coach.
Given his La Masia roots and the fact Enrique thought high enough of Elena to play him in league games, the kid is clearly an exciting talent and Pochettino’s record when it comes to polishing gems makes Tottenham’s reported interest very encouraging.
