According to a report in ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to bid £30 million for Carlos Soler of Valencia in the summer.

Tottenham have offloaded Mousa Dembele this month, leaving room for another midfielder to be brought in.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are unlikely to make an addition before the close of the January transfer window, though, with Spurs now putting plans in place for the summer.

Soler is the latest name to crop up on Tottenham’s wishlist, with the Valencia midfielder catching their scouts’ eyes.

Soler is well known for his technical ability and his excellent range of passing.

Tottenham are said to face competition from PSG for the 22-year-old, but are currently ahead of the French champions.

Soler feels he will be able to play regularly at Tottenham, which makes the move more appealing.

If Soler was to arrive at Tottenham he could become their third most expensive signing of all time, behind Davinson Sanchez and Moussa Sissoko (Transfermarkt).
