Sanchez could make his debut against Burnley’s new striker, Chris Wood, who is set to sign from Leeds United.
If the Colombian was to start, head coach Mauricio Pochettino would have to shift to play three central defenders or drop one of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, which is less likely.
Getting Sanchez straight in to play at Wembley would give Tottenham’s team a potential jolt in the arm, a boost they may need after their opening defeat at the stadium on Sunday.
By the weekend Sanchez may not be Tottenham’s only summer signing, as time is fast running out to make new additions.
Given the way the transfer window has panned out though, it would be a surprise if Spurs lined up with more than one debutant on Saturday.
