Talks between Tottenham and the left-back’s agent were reportedly scheduled for today.

Tottenham Hotspur were scheduled to hold talks with the agent of Corinthians left-back Guilherme Arana on Tuesday, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
Just how the Italian website is so clued-up on a transfer involving English and Brazilian football clubs is anyone’s guess, however it is claimed that the next few days could be decisive with German side Schalke 04 also keen.

19-year-old Arana has made just 17 senior appearances to date and spent part of last season on loan to Atletico Paranaense.
However, he has already featured twice for Brazil’s Under-20 squad – with both caps coming in friendlies against England earlier this year.
It is perhaps reasonable to assume, therefore, that this is where he caught the eye of Tottenham. That said, Spurs are no strangers to shopping in Brazil – and more specifically, the Sao Paulo area – with Paulinho arriving at White Hart Lane from Corinthians in 2013.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are currently well-equipped in Arana’s position, with Danny Rose and Ben Davies vying for a first team place, while young Tottenham pair Luke Amos and Connor Ogilvie will also be hoping to step up in the coming seasons.
