Mauricio Pochettino had been linked with a last-ditch move for his former midfield player.

Morgan Schneiderlin’s agent has quashed talk of a reunion between the Manchester United midfielder and Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham Hotspur.
A report in the Daily Mail claimed Pochettino was still pursuing the former Southampton midfielder ahead of Wednesday’s 11pm deadline.
However, Schneiderlin’s agent Pascal Boisseau has reportedly assured Sport Witness: “He’s staying in Manchester.”
Schneiderlin was a target for Pochettino in each of the previous two summer transfer windows. However, the Frenchman was forced to stay put in 2014 before United snared him in July last year.

Despite this, a disappointing first season at Old Trafford had prompted Tottenham intermediaries to “test the water”, according to the Daily Mail.
However, United are said to have given little encouragement, which has seen Spurs pursue alternative options such as Schneiderlin’s international teammate Moussa Sissoko at Newcastle United.

The report adds that, despite falling behind Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera in the Red Devils pecking order, the 26-year-old is keen to fight for his place – although Pochettino will apparently “monitor Schneiderlin’s position”, with a January approach possible if his situation fails to improve.
The Argentine has already reunited with another member of his Southampton midfield, following Victor Wanyama’s July move to White Hart Lane.
