Tottenham Hotspur have taken up the option to extend Cameron Carter-Vickers’s contract by a year, according to Football.London.
It has been reported that Tottenham have made sure that Carter-Vickers does not become a free agent at the end of the season by taking up the option to extend his deal by a year.
The 23-year-old defender, who is on loan at Bournemouth at the moment, is still expected to leave Spurs in the summer of 2021, according to the report, which has added that the Cherries could make his deal permanent if they can agree on a fee with Spurs.
Leaving Tottenham Hotspur for good
Carter-Vickers has been at Spurs since 2009, but the defender has yet to play in the Premier League for the North London club.
The USA international central defender has been out on loan at a number of clubs in recent years, including Sheffield United, Ipswich Town and Luton Town.

It is hard to see the 23-year-old break into Jose Mourinho’s side, and it would make sense for the defender to leave Spurs for good in the summer of 2021.
According to WhoScored, Carter-Vickers has scored one goal in 12 Championship appearances for Bournemouth this season.
