PSV Eindhoven are reportedly keen on signing Tottenham’s Vincent Janssen.
But they fear Tottenham’s high asking price will scupper their chances of a deal.
Janssen signed for Spurs from AZ Alkmaar after finishing the season as Eredivisie top scorer.
His first season at Tottenham was an abject failure and Mauricio Pochettino sent him packing to Fenerbahce on loan.
Janssen did not have much luck in Turkey either, missing four months of action with injury, and scoring only five goals.
It appears strongly that he has little future at Tottenham, and there is already tentative interest.
Tottenham do not appear likely to have much trouble offloading him, and a return to the Eredivisie could appeal.
Spurs want to recoup close to the £17 million they spent on Janssen, but after a two year spell in which he failed to reach double figures combined, his market value has taken a major hit.
Until chairman Daniel Levy decides to lower the asking price, Tottenham are likely to be stuck with him.
Perhaps their best option is to send him out on loan again, and hope he hits form in order to sell at a high price, but that plan did not work too well last season.
