Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid for Leeds United winger Daniel James, according to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon account on Sunday (28 August).

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Tottenham have made a loan offer for the former Manchester United winger with a view to a permanent deal next summer.

However, Leeds want cash right now, according to the report.

Could Tottenham Hotspur sign Daniel James from Leeds United?

In our view, Leeds United are unlikely to sell Daniel James to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur so late in the summer transfer window.

Unless, of course, they are offered a ridiculous amount of money.

Leeds paid Manchester United £25 million in transfer fees in the summer of 2021 (BBC Sport).

The West Yorkshire club are surely going to ask for at least that much f they are to cash in on the Wales international now.

Tottenham are not going to be able to get the 24-year-old if they persist on a loan-to-buy offer.

After all, why would that appeal to Leeds?

James has scored 10 goals and created 14 big chances in 85 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
