Tottenham Hotspur are the only Premier League side yet to make a signing this summer.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur’s desperation to make new additions this summer has seen them discuss signing Everton’s Phil Jagielka.

Mauricio Pochettino wants defensive cover, but has found finding targets difficult to do.

And Everton’s Jagielka is now a potential transfer target, should Spurs enter the market for a centre-back.

Tottenham are only likely to sign a new defender if Kevin Wimmer moves elsewhere, but Jagielka is a name which has been brought up by Pochettino.

The England international appears unlikely to play regularly for Everton next season, with Ronald Koeman’s side boasting a number of options in the centre of their defence.

If Jagielka was to move to Spurs it would be a major surprise, as he is reaching the twilight of his career.

Jagielka is now 34, and he struggled at times for Everton last term.

Tottenham are the only team in the Premier League who are yet to make a signing so far this summer.
