Report: Tottenham Hotspur given triple injury boost ahead of Champions League final

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side are due to play Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1st.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen is confident of winning his race against time to be fit for the Champions League final.

Vertonghen damaged his ankle during Tottenham’s semi-final clash with Ajax.

The Belgian centre-back missed out on playing in Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s final game of the Premier League season.

There are concerns around Tottenham that Vertonghen could be struggling to be fit in time to feature in Madrid.

However, Vertonghen believes that he will be able to play in the Champions League final.

That could be crucial to Tottenham, who are set to get many of their key players back.

Harry Kane and Harry Winks are also expected to make it off the treatment table to play in the Spanish capital, on arguably the biggest night in Tottenham history.

If Vertonghen is fit then he is almost certain to start alongside Toby Alderweireld in the heart of Tottenham’s defence.
