It has been reported that Tottenham asked Juventus about the 22-year-old central defender.
However, according to the report, the Italian and European giants have rejected it, as they do not want to let the Turkey international centre-back leave before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.
Juventus spell
Demiral joined Juventus from fellow Italian club Sassuolo in the summer of 2019.
According to WhoScored, the centre-back made five starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A for Juventus last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, and he also played 90 minutes in the Champions League during the 2019-20 campaign.
Need for a centre-back
Tottenham could do with a new senior central defender who would compete with Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez.
Spurs have progressed to the Europa League group stage and are also aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table, and the North London outfit need a big squad.
With Juventus reportedly not willing to let Demiral leave, it seems that Tottenham’s search for a new centre-back goes on.
