Manchester City are thought to be closing in on signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker.
According to a report in the Daily Star, Kyle Walker could leave Tottenham Hotspur to join Manchester City in the coming week.
City have been tracking Walker throughout the summer so far, and are said to be closing in on completing a deal now.
Walker seemingly fell out of favour at Tottenham towards the end of the season, and Mauricio Pochettino has now deemed the defender to be expendable.
Spurs are set to receive a sizeable amount of money for the England international.
And Pochettino may feel that Tottenham already have a ready-made replacement for Walker in their squad already.
Kieran Trippier was in excellent form over the back end of the campaign, when he seemed to dislodge Walker from Spurs’ starting line-up.
If Walker does move to City, he will take Pep Guardiola’s side spending this summer to beyond the £100 million mark – after the additions of Ederson and Bernardo Silva.
Spurs, meanwhile, are yet to complete a signing this summer, but may have more money to spend following Walker’s departure.
