Tottenham Hotspur youngster is looking at a promotion, according to reports.

According to Football London, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has scrapped plans to sign Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira and could promote Kyle Walker-Peters instead.

Tottenham were said to be in the market for a right-back after Kyle Walker joined Manchester City in a £54 million deal earlier in July.

The Evening Standard have reported this month that Porto were confident about Spurs stumping up the £22 million needed to sign Pereira.

However, Football London claimed on Saturday night that Pochettino is a “big fan” of the 20-year-old Walker-Peters and might use him as back-up to Kieran Trippier next season.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier is another who has been linked with the North Londoners, though the report goes on to state that the Argentine coach is not interested in the 24-year-old due to his troublesome nature.

Pochettino has signed nobody this summer and promoting Walker-Peters instead of replacing his namesake might not sit well with some Lilywhites supporters, even if the youngster is highly rated by team-mates and coaches.
