Tottenham Hotspur are still in talks with Southampton over the transfer of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg despite Everton making a bid, according to The Guardian.
It has been reported that Everton have had a bid of £25 million for Hojbjerg accepted by Premier League rivals Southampton.
However, Spurs are reportedly interested in the Denmark international as well, and talks are continuing with the Saints, with the North London outfit confident that they can get the done and hijack Everton’s move for the 24-year-old, who described Tottenham as “a big club” in April 2020, as quoted on BT.
Tottenham Hotspur transfer?
Hojbjerg is a very good midfielder who knows the Premier League well, and he would be a good signing for Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
While Everton are a big club and have a world-class manager in Carlo Ancelotti, Spurs were challenging for the Premier League title and were playing in the final of the Champions League not so long ago, and under head coach Jose Mourinho, the team could bring back those days.
It remains to be seen if Spurs are able to strike a deal with Premier League rivals Southampton.
