West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes on transfer deadline day.

It has been reported that Tottenham’s Premier League rivals, West Ham United, are interested in Gomes and met the midfielder on Monday.
However, according to the report, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is confident that the North London outfit will be able to strike a loan deal for the 24-year-old.

“Tottenham have also picked up the thread of talks with Barcelona again over the loan of Andre Gomes,” states the report in The Daily Mail (Transfer blog, 12:11pm, August 31, 2017).
“West Ham met the player on Monday and were considered favourites but Daniel Levy believes a loan could now be achieved within their financial boundaries.”

Barcelona signed Gomes from La Liga rivals Valencia in the summer of 2016 for an initial transfer fee of £29.3 million, as reported by BBC Sport.
Much was expected of the midfielder when he arrived at Camp Not, but the 24-year-old struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou.
According to a recent report in The Mirror, Barcelona are willing to sanction a loan deal for the 24-year-old midfielder, who is claimed to be not in new coach Ernesto Valverde’s plan this season.
