Tottenham are claimed to be closing in on signing Ante Coric, despite Liverpool’s recent interest.
Croatia’s Ante Coric shoots at goal
Tottenham Hotspur are close to signing Ante Coric from Dinamo Zagreb, Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb claim, citing an exclusive.
Coric, 19, is an attacking midfielder who is a Croatia under-21 international and made 41 appearances for his club this past season.
The teenager scored five goals and provided six assists, with his form catching the eye of foreign clubs.
Tuttomercatoweb claim an agreement between the two teams is close for Coric, with Tottenham hoping the deal can be done for just four million Euros: £3.05 million.

Coric would become Tottenham’s first summer signing, as they look to improve their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League, after a third placed finish in the Premier League last season.
It is possible there could yet be a twist in the tale yet with Liverpool’s interest already known.
Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp
Croatian newspaper Sportske Novoski claimed this week that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp made a personal phone call to Coric to try and convince him to sign.
Should they lose out to Spurs it would be frustrating, given that they also missed out on wonderkid and England international Dele Alli 18 months earlier.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino has a proven track record of bringing on young talent and Coric, who has been compared to Luka Modric in his homeland, could find the perfect club should he sign.
