Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations with Manchester United over Toby Alderweireld, according to reports.

Jose Mourinho was confident that a £55 million bid would have been enough to convince Tottenham to sell the Belgian.
However, Daniel Levy has refused all offers so far, and feels that he can bring in more for the centre-back.

Alderweireld has just one year left on his contract with Spurs, but Tottenham appear to believe they can get United to raise their offer further.
The two sides are now said to be locked in negotiations, with neither refusing to budge.

The saga surrounding Alderweireld now threatens to continue, in what could be one of the most drawn out transfers of the summer.
Alderweireld is currently training with Belgium ahead of the World Cup, and will be looking to ensure the speculation over his future at Spurs does not affect his performances in Russia.
