Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Giovani Lo Celso appears to be stalling.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur’s move to sign Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso has stalled – and may only be resurrected if Christian Eriksen moves on.
Tottenham tied up deals for Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele on Tuesday, and many fans have been expecting the pursuit for Lo Celso to ramp up.
Spurs have already failed with a £53million bid for Lo Celso according to BBC Sport, and news has been thin on the ground in terms of a new move.
Now, it’s believed that talks have been shelved after failing to agree a fee, with Betis wanting closer to Lo Celso’s £88million release clause – meaning there’s a huge gap in the valuations so far.
The report does note that Tottenham may go back in for Lo Celso if they can sell wantaway playmaker Eriksen, but for now, Spurs are focusing their attentions elsewhere.
That’s a major blow for Mauricio Pochettino, who will have loved to sign his compatriot after his 16-goal season in Spain, but also for Lo Celso himself.

It’s noted that Lo Celso himself wants to join Spurs to work with Pochettino, but he’s now being priced out of his big move to North London, which may well collapse completely if Spurs don’t raise funds.
After signing Ndombele, landing Lo Celso too would be hugely exciting, but Daniel Levy knows that a lot of the club’s budget went on Ndombele – and could scupper the move for Lo Celso.
