Mauricio Pochettino has been trying to help Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier understand the defensive midfield role better.

According to a report in the Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has been giving Eric Dier videos of Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets to study.
One of Pochettino’s methods to enhance the understanding and ability of Spurs’ players is to show them the performances of some of the leading players in the world in their respective positions.

The Argentine boss wants Dier to learn through the positional play of Busquets, who plays the anchoring role in Barcelona’s midfield.
Dier has had to adapt quickly to playing as the shield in Tottenham’s team, rather than in the defence.
The 22-year-old has generally spent his career playing in central-defence, but he has excelled since being handed a more advanced role in Tottenham’s midfield.
Dier has established himself as a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and he is also playing a key role for England.

Dier has played in every one of the Three Lions’ matches at Euro 2016 so far, and he is one of the first names on Roy Hodgson’s teamsheet.
England’s next match at the international tournament comes against Iceland on Monday, and Dier is expected to be amongst the starters once again for the Three Lions.
