Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing Joao Carvalho from Benfica in the summer transfer window, according to The London Evening Standard.

Carvalho, who is 19 years of age and operates as an attacking midfielder, is currently on loan at Vitoria Setubal from Benfica.

According to The London Evening Standard, a Tottenham scout watched the youngster in action during Vitoria’s 1-1 draw with Braga on February 26.

It has been reported that representatives from Arsenal and Manchester United also watched the teenager against Braga.

Too early for Premier League?

Carvalho is only 19 years of age and is just getting started in top-flight professional football. The youngster is far from a finished article, and is not ready to feature in the first team of Arsenal, Tottenham and United.

However, given the talent and potential that the Benfica-owned youngster has, it would make Tottenham, Arsenal or United to sign him up in the summer transfer window and gradually integrate him into their first team.

Tottenham, Arsenal and United all could feature in the Champions League next season.
