Tottenham’s deal to sign the Paris Saint-Germain winger is reportedly down to the finer details.

Lucas Moura #7 of Paris Saint-Germain tries to break away from Radja Nainggolan #4 of AS Roma during the second half at Comerica Park on July 19, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan.

The Daily Mail understands that Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £22m fee to sign Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain and are optimistic of signing him before the January window closes.

However, the report adds that the two clubs are yet to settle on the structure of the deal, and the value of how much of that sum Spurs will pay up front is what is delaying the transfer at this point.

Daniel Levy, Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur looks on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool at White Hart Lane on August 27, 2016 in London, England.

It is worth noting that Sky Sports claim a £25m package has already been agreed, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is an infamous haggler and Spurs fans will be hoping that his bargain-driving does not jeopardise what is a much-needed signing, with all of their rivals strengthening already in this window.

Moura is a proven performer at a top European club, having scored 46 goals and provided 50 assists in 229 matches for PSG before being phased out due to the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The Brazilian winger has 35 international caps and will bring speed and unpredictability to a Tottenham forward line which can often lack both, as well as the depth to change a game off the bench.

The fee quoted by the Daily Mail would represent an excellent piece of business by Spurs in this inflated market, as long as Levy can get an agreement over the line without penny pushing too much.
