Kieran Trippier limped out of Tottenham Hotspur’s final pre-season friendly, and now appears to be a doubt for their Premier League opener.
According to a report from The Sun, Tottenham are hoping that they will discover the full extent of Kieran Trippier’s injury today and are holding out some hope that he could be available for their Premier League opener with Newcastle United on Sunday.
Trippier has given Spurs a scare after limping out of their final pre-season friendly against Juventus at the weekend after twisting his ankle.

The Sun reports that the former Burnley man left the game wearing a protective boot and on crutches and underwent a scan on Tuesday as they tried to ascertain just how serious the problem was.
And The Sun suggests that they should find out today just how long the right-back should be sidelined for – and appear to not be ruling out entirely the prospect of Trippier being available for the curtain-raiser.
It would certainly be a huge boost for Spurs if the 26-year-old is available for the season-opener as his injury has really exposed the lack of depth the side boast in that area of the pitch, especially following Kyle Walker’s move to Manchester City earlier in the window.
But Spurs fans will also be hoping, even if Trippier’s spell on the sidelines is not a long one, that the injury scare has persuaded Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino to get stuck into the transfer market as letting the deadline come and go without adding to their options could be a major gamble, and the injury to the full-back has arguably provided the warning.
