Tottenham Hotspur remain in the hunt for Giovani Lo Celso.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham are unlikely to pay the £88million release clause in Giovani Lo Celso’s deal – but Real Betis won’t accept anything less.
Tottenham’s focus is on the Champions League final against Liverpool this weekend, but there will already be one eye looking towards the summer transfer window.
Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t signed a player for almost 18 months, and having pulled off a miracle, it’s now time for Spurs to spend on his squad.
Spurs may need another playmaker with concerns over Christian Eriksen’s future, and Pochettino has made fellow Argentine Lo Celso a top target.
However, Spurs have failed with a £53million move, and the Standard claim that Tottenham are unlikely to go all the way up to the £88million release clause in Lo Celso’s contract.
Betis won’t sell for anything less, so the move is hitting something of a stalemate, with neither side willing to budge on their valuations of the midfielder.

Lo Celso, 23, joined Betis on loan from PSG back in August, and after smashing 16 goals and six assists, they activated a purchase clause in his loan move.
They could now turn a quick profit on Lo Celso, but with £35million between the valuations, a move is currently looking unlikely.
