Serie A centre-back Joachim Andersen could replace Toby Alderweireld in the Premier League at Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur held talks with Sampdoria’s vice-president about the potential signing of Joachim Andersen, according to Calciomercato.
With Toby Alderweireld’s future in North London in doubt due to a £25 million release clause that will become active in the summer as he enters the final 12 months of his contract (Independent), Spurs have been scouring the market for potential replacements.
Andersen has been one of those most frequently linked since last year with the highly-rated Dane impressing in Serie A for the Genoa-based club.
And Calciomercato are reporting that Sampdoria’s vice-president, Antonio Romei, travelled to London on Wednesday for talks with Tottenham’s management with Andersen’s future understood to be the reason for his trip.

Calciomercato reported last month that Spurs were willing to pay £35 million to bring the former FC Twente defender to North London.
The 22-year-old, whose impressive passing range should make him a perfect fit under Mauricio Pochettino, has started all but one of Sampdoria’s 23 Serie A matches this season with Marco Giampaolo’s side sitting ninth in the table.
They are just six points adrift of the Champions League places.
