According to L’Equipe, Borussia Monchengladbach are now ready to let Marcus Thuram leave, following interest from Tottenham.

What’s the story?

Well, it was a separate report from L’Equipe in July which revealed that Tottenham were in talks with the Bundesliga club.

Back then, BILD claimed that the German club wanted around €45m (£38m) for the 24-year-old, who was a man in demand over the summer.

However, a poor campaign so far for the 4-cap France international has led to Borussia Monchengladbach changing their outlook on their No.10.

Now, Thuram is available for just €15m (£13m) according to L’Equipe, which signals a huge dip in their valuation.

It comes after the son of Lilian Thuram has failed to score in ten appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach this season.

Worryingly, he hasn’t even provided an assist either.

In fairness, Thuram did suffer a knee injury which saw him miss eight games, so he may well be struggling to recover from that.

Should Tottenham sign Marcus Thuram?

Thuram’s form is a big concern, but for £13m, we feel Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici would be foolish not to sign the Frenchman.

At 24, he still has many years to develop on the initial promise which saw Arsene Wenger liken him to Thierry Henry.

Last season, Thuram scored 11 goals and provided 12 assists in what was a tremendous campaign, so this season could well just be a small blip.

Even if it isn’t, £13m is not much to pay for a player whose value could soar back up to £38m if he has even one good season in the Premier League.
