Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Brighton and Hove Albion ace Alexis Mac Allister and have made their interest known.

That is according to a report from 90Min, who claim that Tottenham have ‘registered their interest’ in signing Mac Allister.

It’s suggested that Liverpool are leading the race to sign Mac Allister and he is set to stay in the Premier League when he leaves Brighton.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Newcastle United are keen and are understood to have communicated their interest.

Add in interest from Manchester City and Manchester United, and it looks like Mac Allister will have his pick of the clubs this summer.

It’s stated that Brighton have been left ‘agitated’ at Mac Allister’s desire to leave the club this summer.

Brighton are willing to sell and for more than £70million – a price which rules out pretty much all foreign suitors.

Brighton only paid £7million to sign Mac Allister from Argentinos Juniors in 2019 and now want 10 times that price.

It has taken Mac Allister a little while to become a Premier League star but he is now there – and that comes with a huge valuation.

HITC View: Tottenham may be lagging behind in Alexis Mac Allister race

Tottenham are understandably interested in signing Mac Allister; he has the guile that Spurs really lack in the middle of the park and he’s a hard worker to go along with his technical ability.

Hailed as ‘incredible’ by Brighton’s Adam Lallana, Mac Allister would be a great addition for Spurs.

However, can we really see Tottenham winning this race?

Spurs have no manager and no director of football, so who would even be making the decision to go for Mac Allister?

The fee would also be a staggering price for Tottenham to pay, especially with so many other areas to improve.

Spurs seemingly won’t have Champions League football either, hampering their budget and their appeal.

We can’t really see Tottenham winning this race and Liverpool seem to be the most likely destination for Mac Allister right now.
