Tottenham Hotspur have been testing the ground over a possible move for Feyenoord boss Arne Slot at the end of the season.

Spurs parted ways with Antonio Conte last week and look to be rudderless at the moment.

Cristian Stellini is in charge until the summer but Monday’s 1-1 draw at Everton didn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Tottenham will have a number of managerial targets in mind, most likely for the end of the season.

One of them is Feyenoord boss Arne Slot, who is on Tottenham’s radar according to reports from The Times in March.

The Independent now suggest that Tottenham have been testing Slot’s interest in the job.

It’s stated that Spurs have been using ‘back channels’ to try and gauge whether Slot would fancy a move to North London.

This likely means using intermediary agents to find out information before making an official approach.

Slot won’t be interested right now; Feyenoord are top of the Eredivisie and closing in on the title.

Add in a last eight spot in the Europa League and Slot’s focus will be fully on the Rotterdam club.

Arne Slot would be an exciting choice for Tottenham

Slot has worked miracles at Feyenoord, firstly taking them to the Europa Conference League final last season.

Now closing in on the title and with the prospect of a Europa League semi-final on the cards, Slot has become one of the most exciting managers around.

Slot plays a 4-2-3-1 system with the number 10 pushing up high to become something like a second striker.

High-pressing and plenty of goals; those are the main facets of a Slot team, which Tottenham fans could surely get behind.

Dutch reporter Marcel van der Kraan has hailed Slot as an ‘ultra attacking maniac’ whilst speaking to TalkSPORT.

That’s the kind of manager Tottenham supporters want to see and whilst going for an Eredivisie boss will be seen as a risk, it has worked for Manchester United with Erik ten Hag – and Slot could make Spurs very exciting to watch.
