According to Sport, Tottenham have asked about loaning Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Barcelona are in financial peril at the moment, so need to balance their books by offloading some players, and Spurs have apparently asked about bringing Pjanic to north London on a temporary basis.
Pjanic would undoubtedly be an excellent addition at Spurs.
He has 100 caps for Bosnia and his CV speaks for itself having played for the likes of Roma, Juventus and Barcelona in the past.
So, what type of player would Spurs be getting if Pjanic came in?
The Bosnian is nothing short of a magician. He’s a fantastic creative midfielder, and the fact that he’s previously admitted that he bases his game on Zinedine Zidane tells you all you need to know about him.
Nuno Espirito Santo loves a great ball-player in the heart of his midfields with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves starring for him at Wolves for the past three years, and Pjanic could be the perfect first signing for him at Spurs.
It’s interesting that Barcelona want to offload Pjanic at this point having paid €60m (£52m) for his services just 12 months ago, but their loss could seemingly be Spurs’ gain in this case.
