According to La Nazione, Tottenham Hotspur have sent an approach to the agent of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.
It’s claimed that Fiorentina’s demands have not dropped from around €25million (£23million), meaning a January move won’t exactly be cheap.
Manchester United also want to sign Milenkovic, and have allegedly made ‘repeated’ contact with Milenkovic’s representative, Fali Ramadani, to try and thrash out a deal.
Tottenham have done the same, with Jose Mourinho clearly still keen on adding a new centre back in January despite landing Joe Rodon in October.
This would point to Mourinho wanting to sell Davinson Sanchez, with the Colombian frozen out of Tottenham’s Premier League side in recent weeks.
If Spurs can find a buyer for Sanchez, then Milenkovic may emerge as a top target to bolster Mourinho’s back four for the second half of the season and beyond.

Milenkovic is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall, and has been in strong attacking form this term with two goals and one assist in 13 Serie A games.
The Serbian is also capable of playing at right back, adding more versatility to the Spurs back line if they can convince Fiorentina to sell next month.
